Following the sad news of the death of long-serving councillor Rupert Simmons, the Conservatives have announced their candidate for the forthcoming county by-election in Heathfield, Mayfield and Five Ashes.
Neil Waller will contest the county Division in the forthcoming poll. Neil is a highly experienced councillor and works in the NHS.
He says: “Rupert Simmons’ shoes will be hard to fill but I hope I can rely on your support to represent Heathfield, Mayfield and Five Ashes at County Hall”, says Conservative Neil Waller.
"I work in the NHS as a Deputy Managing Director of Finance. In addition to representing you, I wish to get fully involved in the financial challenges that the County Council has to deliver including Adult Social Care and Children’s services which take up 70% of its budget.
"I am also acutely aware of the need to get Visibly Better Roads.
"My experience of roles at Wealden District Council and as a town councillor means I will hit the road running.
Please give me your support at the forthcoming by-election.
