With many thousands of Wealden residents still coming to terms with living without running water, it's now been revealed that a key road is to be closed due to a burst water main.
Crowborough Hill is a busy route and now the road will be closed for two days, Wealden Conservatives understands.
"At the time of writing, South-East water have given no update to Wealden council officers or Cabinet Members so local councillors are the best source of information", says Conservative Michael Lunn who represents Hadlow Down and Rotherfield.
He, along with other Conservatives and Independent members of Wealden District Council have called for an urgent meeting to investigate the best solution to relieve residents' suffering. But, to day, their calls have fallen on deaf ears with the ruling Lib-Dem/Green coalition refusing all requests.
Additionally, senior officers running Wealden have also offered the council's assistance to South-East Water So far, this too has been declined.
"I am doing everything I can to help residents", said an exasperated Michael Lunn. "Ideally we need to work together: all councillors, the wonderful officer team and South-East Water. That would be in the best interests of residents."
Michael, and his fellow Conservatives, continue to fight on behalf of those they represent.
