A military veteran, Conservative Cllr Neil Cleaver was Bearing the Standard at Hailsham's Remembrance Service
Serving for nine years in the Queen’s Regiment and Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment, Cllr Cleaver is Wealden District Council's 'Veterans' Champion' and councillor for Hailsham Central ward.
The Remembrance Sunday morning service, at Hailsham Parish Church, was followed by a parade to the War Memorial where a wreath-laying service and the playing of the Last Post took place.
The two minutes silence was observed at 11am.
The event was an opportunity and a time to reflect and remember the sacrifices made both in the past and in current conflicts.
